       SBW has been a leading supplier of rotating equipment for refinery applications since the early 1980s.  In the last 35 years, SBW has supplied thousands of compressors for refinery services globally–making SBW a major supplier in the industry.  SBW’s experience with rotating equipment extends to many refinery applications including hydro-treating and hydrocracking, fluidic catalytic cracking (FCC), reforming, delayed coker, and alkylation units.
       As the refining industry has grown and evolved, SBW has grown along with it, developing rotating equipment for refinery processes from distillation through production.
 SBW has extensive experience in integratedrefinery solutions, with references covering major critical equipment includingcentrifugal, axial and reciprocating compressors,and centrifugal pumps.
 
 
Hydro treating and hydrocracking
The thermal conversion processes using hydrogen together with a catalyst are characterized by high operating pressures, which together with the low molecular weight of the compressed medium bring special challenges to the rotating equipment designer.

H2 recycle compressors
Our BCL series centrifugal compressors are a vertically split high pressure, high speed model optimised for this application. To date, we have supplied more than 400compressor sets of this type in refinery service.

Fluid Catalytic Cracking
 
Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) is widely used to convert the highboiling point, highmolecular weight  hydrocarbon fractions of petroleum crude oils to  light-fraction fuels such as gasoline, olefinic gases, and other products, adding value to the refining process.
 
 
Main air compressor
SBW can supply both centrifugal and axial compressors designed to handle high flow volumes at best efficiencies and with a broad operating range for Main Air Compressorduties on FCC units.

Catalytic Reforming

Catalytic reforming is a chemical process used both to convert low octane naptha into a high octane reformate and to provide aromatics feedstocks such as benzene, toluene, and xylene for downstream petrochemical plants. Reforming also produces high purity hydrogen as byproduct, which is fed into other refinery processes such as hydrocracking. Compressor applications in this area include make-up hydrogen and recycle hydrogen services.

Delayed Coking Unit
 
Delayed coking is a thermal cracking process that upgrades and converts petroleum bottoms into liquid and gas product streams and petroleum coke. Coker applications are challenging due to the wide range of operating conditions required and the fouling properties of the compressed gases.
 
 
 
   Coker wet gas compressors
 
  SBW provides wet gas compressors for coker service with anti-fouling coatings to minimize foulant build-up in the compressor.
